This page documents a development or unofficial plugin for IRCBot. You should not count on this plugin working, being publically released, or being stable.

The Skype plugin is designed to provide a Console interface for the bot from Skype. It interfaces with your running copy of Skype via the Skype API and let's users interact with IRCBot.

Contents

Notes - Win32

The Skype plugin will interface with Skype running on the same desktop as you run the bot in. - This is a limitation of the Skype API communication mechanism and nothing can be done about it.

Notes - Linux

You must run IRCBot in an X session (whether a real X session or a VNC session) because the Skype API uses X communications to talk to the plugin. D-BUS may also be supported in the future, however you would still have to run IRCBot in an X session for it as well. The Skype plugin will interface with Skype running on the same X session as you run the bot in.

Configuration

See the Configuration page.

Dependencies

The Skype plugin requires the TTS Services plugin to be loaded.
